Jiggies, also known as Jigsaw Pieces, are golden jigsaw pieces and the main collectible in every Banjo-Kazooie game. These golden jigsaw pieces contain a strong magic capable that is capable of breaking open world entrances and are essential to progress to later areas. Jiggies are obtained through completing various missions, helping characters, playing mini-games, fighting bosses, or sometimes (especially near the beginning of the games) found in plain sight. Depending on the game, the number and manner in which the Jiggies open worlds is different.

In Banjo-Kazooie, there are 100 Jiggies, which are used to fill in missing pieces of the Jigsaw Puzzles; and an increasing number of Jiggies are required for each consecutive world. Jiggies here are actually "spent" to open worlds, unlike subsequent games in which only the total amount of Jiggies collected is considered. The very first Jiggy is found right next to the entrance of Gruntilda's Lair, allowing the duo to complete the Mumbo's Mountain picture and systematically raid the whole lair of its Jiggies, Musical Notes, and moves.
In Banjo-Kazooie, Jigsaw Pieces are used to complete Jigsaw Puzzles and open different worlds. There are 100 Jiggies in the entire game, each world having 10 each (not counting Spiral Mountain). Unlike subsequent games, Jiggies used in Jigsaw Puzzles will disappear from the duo's counter.

Whenever Banjo and Kazooie collect a Jiggy, they perform a victory dance, which ends with Banjo raising the Jiggy and Kazooie gulping it.

Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo-Tooie, there are a total of 90 Jiggies. Whenever Banjo and Kazooie have enough Jiggies, they can enter Jiggywiggy's Temple, where they must play a challenge to unlock the next world. An increasing number of Jiggies are required for each consecutive world. Banjo and Kazooie no longer perform a victory dance from collecting a Jiggy, so they can still move around once they have obtained a Jiggy.
In Banjo-Tooie, Jiggies are used in Jiggywiggy's Temple to complete challenges and unlock worlds. There are 90 Jiggies in total, 10 less than the previous game.

Jiggywiggy again opens the worlds, just like in Banjo-Tooie, but solving a puzzle is no longer required.
In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Jiggies are once again used to open worlds with the help of Master Jiggywiggy in his temple, although no challenge is required to be beaten anymore. There are 60 Jiggies in total, 30 less than in the previous title.

Banjo-Pilot
In Banjo-Pilot, Jiggies are collected in the Jiggy Challenges, with 6 in each course, 24 in each Cup, 96 in each Grand Prix and 192 in total, being the biggest number of Jiggies in a Banjo-Kazooie game.

Jiggies are taken, from Jig-O-Vends, to the Jiggy Bank in the Central Plaza of Showdown Town, to open the world act doors, and, similar to the previous games, an increasing number is needed on every door.
In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Jiggies can be obtained in various ways such as throughout the Acts or buying them from Jolly Dodger. After collecting them, they must be withdrawn from a Jig-O-Vend and be inserted in the Jiggy Bank, located in the center of Showdown Town in order to open new Acts. If a cop sees the duo carrying Jiggies in their vehicle, it will assume they're smuggling and chase them. There is a total of 131 Jiggies that can be collected in the entire game.

*The maximum number of Jiggies found in each game has decreased with each released installment (with the exception of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts). There are a total of 100 in Banjo-Kazooie, 90 in Banjo-Tooie, only 60 Jiggies in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, and even fewer are found in Banjo-Pilot. There are, however, a total of 131 Jiggies in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
*In Viva Piñata, another game developed by Rare, the piñata Fizzlybear uses Jiggies in one of its attacks.
*In each game, the manner of collecting the Jiggy changes:
*Despite the numerous scenarios where Jiggies are found in situations that would normally damage them, the only instance of a damaged Jiggy is one with teeth marks that is given by an Oogle Boogle, who thought there was chocolate inside.
**In Banjo-Kazooie, when Banjo obtains a Jiggy, he will jump around dancing while holding it above his head, stopping just long enough for Kazooie to eat it. The only exceptions to this are when Banjo and Kazooie are flying or swimming underwater, or while using an animal transformation. After completing all eleven empty pictures in Grunty's lair, Banjo and Kazooie will be left with two spare Jiggys, the player must acquire the last two to view the game's true ending cinematic.
**In Banjo-Tooie, the Jiggy spins around Banjo before flying into the air and disappearing without disrupting gameplay. This new method could have been easier to program and could be used for any character or situation in which the Jiggy is obtained without looking strange if used on unusual terrain (ex. while sliding down a slope). This also was done because standing with it was time-consuming.
**In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the Jiggy is just put in your total with no animation at all. It does play the jingle, however.
**In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, when you gain a Jiggy and bring it to the Jiggy Bank, it floats into the bank, playing the jingle from the first two games.
*In Gobi's Valley, we find out that Jiggies have been around for at least 1,000 years, since Grabba says he had his Jiggy for over 1,000 years. What they were used for in the ancient past is unknown.
*Jiggies are used as an attack move for a piñata called Fizzly Bear on Viva Piñata, another game developed by Rare.
*No matter where it comes from, Jiggies always appear to be clean and unscratched. (i.e. Boggy barfing it up, Canary Mary's wing, pooped out by Eyrie.) An exception is when Banjo mentions that the Jiggy obtained from the Oogle Boogle Tribe has teeth marks on it, due to being bitten by a member who thought that there was chocolate inside of it.
*Jiggies can also be broken into pieces, as evidenced in Banjo-Tooie, where in Glitter Gulch Mine, Banjo and Kazooie destroy the Jiggy Boulder in the Crushing Shed, also shattering the Jiggy, forcing Banjo-Kazooie to find the pieces and put it back together. Also in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, some of Grunty's minions shattered a Jiggy into pieces, and the pieces are subsequently gathered and put back together with the help of Miss Bucket.

“Hey...It's me, Mr. Jiggy! Now go and find a picture with a piece missing.”
Jiggy, Banjo-Kazooie

Jiggies, also known as Jigsaw Pieces, are collectibles in the Banjo-Kazooie series. They are golden jigsaw pieces that can open entrances to various worlds using their magic, being required to progress through all Banjo-Kazooie games. They are generally obtained by completing mini-games, defeating bosses, reaching the end of plataforming segments or helping characters.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Jigsaw Pieces are used to complete Jigsaw Puzzles and open different worlds. There are 100 Jiggies in the entire game, each world having 10 each (not counting Spiral Mountain). Unlike subsequent games, Jiggies used in Jigsaw Puzzles will disappear from the duo's counter.

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, Jiggies are used in Jiggywiggy's Temple to complete challenges and unlock worlds. There are 90 Jiggies in total, 10 less than the previous game.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Jiggies are once again used to open worlds with the help of Master Jiggywiggy in his temple, although no challenge is required to be beaten anymore. There are 60 Jiggies in total, 30 less than in the previous title.

Banjo-Pilot

In Banjo-Pilot, Jiggies are collected in the Jiggy Challenges, with 6 in each course, 24 in each Cup, 96 in each Grand Prix and 192 in total, being the biggest number of Jiggies in a Banjo-Kazooie game.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Jiggies can be obtained in various ways such as throughout the Acts or buying them from Jolly Dodger. After collecting them, they must be withdrawn from a Jig-O-Vend and be inserted in the Jiggy Bank, located in the center of Showdown Town in order to open new Acts. If a cop sees the duo carrying Jiggies in their vehicle, it will assume they're smuggling and chase them. There is a total of 131 Jiggies that can be collected in the entire game.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie

In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo & Kazooie's All Star involves Kazooie using Mumbo's Wrench to the send waves of Jiggies in their opponents.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

In the trailer that announced Banjo & Kazooie, a Jiggy was thrown through Donkey Kong's house, foreshadowing the duo's imminent appearance. Within the game itself, a Jiggy appears as a Spirit, and one of Banjo & Kazooie's victory poses has the duo collecting one and posing. A Jiggy also serves as the series symbol for the Banjo-Kazooie universe.
