“My wings are really stiff, and it looks like you could use some extra jumping height to get more Jiggies! It looks like we'll need the 'Flap Flip'.”
Kazooie, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

The Flap Flip is a recurring move in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Overview[edit]

Flap Flip is move that allows Banjo and Kazooie to jump higher than normal and reach higher areas.

Banjo-Kazooie[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie, Bottles teaches Banjo and Kazooie how to use the Flap Flip in Spiral Mountain during the tutorial. It is performed by holding Z Button and then pressing A Button.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

In Banjo-Tooie, Banjo and Kazooie already start the game knowing how to use the Flap Flip, and Bottles' ghost can remember them in Spiral Mountain. It is performed the same way as it did in Banjo-Kazooie. When splitting up, Banjo can use a variant of this move by himself by "flapping" his arms, but Kazooie cannot; she eventually learns a similar move known as the Leg Spring.

Grunty's Revenge[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Kazooie teaches Banjo how to use the Flap Flip once she is rescued from Mecha-Grunty in Breegull Beach. It is performed by holding L Button and then pressing A Button.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Flap Flip appears as the duo's backwards jump.
