Re[edit]
Thanks! Being a "collectathon" enthusiast, I've played BK, BT, and GR all the way through 100%, but considered the Wikia to probably be a lost cause at this point. Nice to see an alternative :) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:39, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hahaha, this wiki's already on its way to becoming more successful than Wikia counterpart. Have a good New Year's (Eve). Results May Vary (talk) 02:44, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was in a depressed rut earlier today, glad to find something interesting and new to do. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 03:17, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Jinjo colors[edit]
Having articles for each Jinjo color is rather excessive, in my opinion, when most of them only appear in the same single shared game and its port-with-higher-resolution. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:56, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- If you'd like, you can merge them all into one page. The list is under Category:Jinjos, and some are still under the import namespace. I'll delete the respective pages once you and me are done merging all the pages (with redirects made in their place). Results May Vary (talk) 10:45, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
BK icons[edit]
I'm about to mass-upload a bunch of static N64 B-K talking icons (with the much simpler naming template of "BK [name] icon.png,") so be prepared for that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:03, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Sounds awesome, thank you Results May Vary (talk) 04:33, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Uploading is now finished. Moved a few duplicates; there may be more that had square boundaries instead of hugging to the icon like mine did. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:50, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Icons to sprites[edit]
It makes more sense to be more general with image types, lest we get into things like "group artwork" categories distinct from "single artwork." Giving icons their own category is like giving character images their own category, in that it makes no sense to do so for a franchise that had a total of 5 released games, not counting remakes (meaning that those red links need to go). Additionally, for searching sake, the game should come first. I also personally frown on abbreviations outside templates. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:59, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- To be perfectly frank, SmashWiki is not the model you'd want to follow if we're trying to go away from fandom-type things. I know you mean categorization-wise, but still. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:05, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Obviously. That was probably the worst thing the wikia did. That's why on the MarioWiki, I was so hellbent on getting LM and LM3DS separated, and why I went through and moved all the sprites in the Donkey Kong character gallery to be actually in a relative order, and not "all versions of each game together" like it was previously. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:49, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
"Chatter"[edit]
I'm curious why this seemingly arbitrary word is being used, it it just because the wikia did that? I think it'd be best to move all instances of that to the simpler "speech." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:05, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- It was suggested by Toomai at one point, so I stuck with it. Results May Vary (talk) 19:15, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- It comes off as a bit....un-encyclopedic to me. Probably because it makes think of that old toy telephone with a face and wheels. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:34, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Special Eggs[edit]
So are the fire and ice eggs actually in B-K for the XBLA versions? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:11, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Oh oops, i should move that, sorry. If you see any mistakes, please correct them, thanks Results May Vary (talk) 21:13, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Short break[edit]
I'm going to be out of commission for at least a day or so, as tomorrow, I get my wisdom teeth removed. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:19, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, see you sometime later Results May Vary (talk) 02:20, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- I think the XBLA icon names should be like "BK XBLA [name] icon.png" or something akin to that, personally, though that's a bit of a minor thing, I suppose. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:32, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- I decided that i'll slowly work on it as we go along. The thing is I dont like making too many minor edits to a page at once. What infobox fields do you think we should have by the way? Results May Vary (talk) 02:33, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- The game appearances and icon ones are good now, I'd suggest a full name parameter so we can have an easier time moving the overly-long ones to the more common ones without losing info, and potentially a species parameter (for known species, none of that crap the wikia pulled with Dilberta). The "weaknesses" on the enemy template seems to work in an off-kilter manner and itself may not be needed. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:39, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

OK, my appointment has been had. Exactly how much I'll be around remains to be seen. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:13, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Twinkly Muncher[edit]
Why did you remove the Tooie info from the Twinkly Muncher page? They operate the enemy dodgems, it's why they....well, eat Twinklies. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:33, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- Oh wow, I meant to only remove the Grunty's Revenge category but was cleaning up some other stuff in the process. Thanks for the catch Results May Vary (talk) 05:36, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
More stuff[edit]
I was thinking that the Chained and White Breegulls articles should just be merged to Breegulls, as it makes more sense to me that way. Also, given RareWare's, erm, behavior, would it be too much to have a page cataloging the many "adult" jokes the franchise contains? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:23, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, but make sure the "Adult" jokes are verifiable. As for Breegulls, they have different enough roles, so why merge them? Results May Vary (talk) 01:30, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- Is the distinction based off official names? (As for what kinds of thing, I was referring to such as how Grunty's party trick can be a "scary striptease," and the prevalence of the word "knacker.") Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:42, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- The scary striptease, the inappropriate terrain in terrydactyland, etc. are all ok to add. as long as there is enough credibility. I'm not sure about "ESRA" in the Mayahem Temple Code Chamber, but that could be possible in itself. I'd appreciate an article of such, thanks.
- As for the breegulls, no I'm pretty sure its conjectural titles. The roles are different, like I said, so I'd prefer not to merge them--to differentiate from the breegull species page. Results May Vary (talk) 01:46, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

Hazards[edit]
Personally, I'd suggest splitting most obvious ones (such as lava and toxic waste) and doing away with the list, as it's a level of cluster that it can't really be fixed. A good portion of them fall under the headers of "fire" or "toxic waste" as it is. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:50, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- It's a good suggestion, and to be honest I'd like to go through with your suggestion as well. I think metalex originally suggested merging Piranha Water with the page. But yeah, merge any notable hazards to their own page for sure, such as fire or toxic waste Results May Vary (talk) 01:23, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
Creating a MediaWiki and importing from a Wikia[edit]
I'm curious for future reference, how is that done? Any hoops needed to go through? I've recently been playing through Crash N. Sane Trilogy, so I've had my eye on their rather slipshod wikia and considering whether I ought to try something similar with that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:13, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- Have you tried contacting Tacopill on ABXY Discord (see sidebar)? He knows how to do XML imports, and he actually provided the XML chunks for me to upload to the wiki. Results May Vary (talk) 06:14, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- No I haven't, the idea spontaneously came to me today. Anyways, for the level of silliness I'm talking about, check out the overthinking found here. A friend of mine also says he saw a walkthrough where some of the players passed the time by looking at what the wikia had to say about level names, and what they allegedly "referenced." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:19, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not familiar with the Crash series, but what exactly happened? Results May Vary (talk) 06:20, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- Apparently a level called "spaced out" (a fairly common expression) was referred to as a reference to a 1980s Warner Bros. cartoon called "Spaced Out Hare." Anyways, the Trivia section I linked goes into detail about how a carnivorous plant that chomps every three seconds should, according to all logic, have been evolved out. Never mind this is a series that has a scientist with a live nuke in his head, gotta insert logic in random places. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:26, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- If an independent, forked wiki is made, want to make a BJAODN to preserve this information for everyone? The Jiggywikki BJAODN is piling up too. Results May Vary (talk) 06:29, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm curious, what happens to the wikia space? This one is actually somewhat active again, so it probably wouldn't work if that's a problem. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:33, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

- What do you mean exactly? Results May Vary (talk) 06:34, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- The phrasing "to preserve" implies that it wouldn't still be at the original location "forked" from. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 06:43, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- Wikia never deletes their wikis, and Toomai (the admin of BK wikia) allowed us to move the content over here. What we want to do though is redo everything from scratch, which will definitely be a length task. Results May Vary (talk) 06:44, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

Grunty's Revenge and its cruddy stretched images[edit]
I have the game on emulator, so I can gather screenshots if neither you nor Metalex are able to. I'm just curious if you are. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:15, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- I have it but go right ahead and capture photos where needed. Would be greatly appreciated, thanks Results May Vary (talk) 05:07, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Sorry I've been inactive[edit]
School's been taking a bit of time, and I've been trying to play through games I had only played through partway in years past (currently on Bad Fur Day :P) Anyways, I'll try to think of something to do here, maybe take better screenshots for the GBA game. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:51, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
- Take your time as needed Results May Vary (talk) 00:24, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
I need help[edit]
When I was going to put an image on this site, an error message arrived saying: You do not have permission to create new pages. These are good quality images from my emulator.
ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 13:42, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- I think you need to be autoconfirmed in order to do that. Did it mention which groups you need to be in to receive uploading permission? Results May Vary (talk) 17:44, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
Don't that I know. ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 16:52, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- Basically, I think it's set to having to be registered for 4 days and make 5 edits, which makes you autoconfirmed. Results May Vary (talk) 20:22, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
Images[edit]
Here the my images.
Isle O' Hags[edit]
ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 13:42, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, i'll go add them for you :) Results May Vary (talk) 18:25, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
Breegull Beach[edit]
ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 18:00, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
- Many thanks! Hopefully you can upload images shortly :) Results May Vary (talk) 00:15, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Captcha update[edit]
I noticed the captcha has been having issues on several wikis, including here, that caused it to not display properly. I updated some of the code and it should only effect anons and new users. If there's any issues, let me know on my talk page. :) Alex95 (talk) 17:58, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
Hag 1 boss area image[edit]
Talking final boss area, the levitation code had to be used with aim in-order to display the full sub-area only used for the boss battle you've deleted, which was taken after Gruntilda was defeated, is the similar rooftop area to the one you can later enter after defeating the Hag digging vehicle. If you use the instant warp code (to the Hag 1 final boss area under the "not sure" section, not the main Cauldron Keep area) with the levitation, or the free cam patches using the rom on Project64, the emulator you're using to emulate Tooie, you'll see black at the bottom of the skybox with eggs inside, and you cannot exit it unless you quit or clip out of it. These two areas are not the same as each other, plus this area's not by a result of modding in any degree.--Crazy Muzzarino (talk) 19:59, December 25, 2021 (UTC)
