User:Doc von Schmeltwick
Hi, I'm Doc von Schmeltwick, also known by a few variants thereof, like Doc of Ages, Dockminster Abbey, ect...
I love the "collectathon" type of platformer, but myself grew up with a PS2. As such, my initial contact with the type of game was actually Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, itself prone to crashes.
I initially played B-K at a relative's house when I was about 3, and diddled about Spiral Mountain while repeatedly reseting the game, and thinking the "START" button said "STOP."
I wouldn't have direct contact with that game again for about 13 or so years, when I stumbled across possibly the very same copy at another relative's house.
Following this, I got an N64 for the sole purpose of playing BK and BT, and the rest is history. I've played all the way through both, and played through Grunty's Revenge on emulator. I also played through DK64 on the Wii U VC, and collected all the bananas (which is extra-difficult as that version removes intended lag).
Least importantly, I used the "Banjo's Backpack" tool to make the BK opening text stupid and vulgar.
"Dingpot, Dingpot, tell me what,"
"Who has the absolute worst-smelling butt?"
(Note that I didn't even have to change the following line)
Anyways, I considered the Wikia to be a lost cause at this point (and I prefer Mediawiki formatting anyways), so here I am.
