The '''Talon Trot''' is an ability learned from [[Bottles]] on [[Mumbo's Mountain]] in ''[[Banjo-Kazooie]]'' and carries over to ''[[Banjo-Tooie]]''. It is one of the earliest moves learned and also one of the most useful. Hold {{Z}} and press {{C-left}}, and [[Kazooie]] will stick her legs out of the backpack and carry [[Banjo]] around as long as {{Z}} is held. Not only does this allow the duo to move much faster, but the Talon Trot is needed to tackle slopes too steep for Banjo to walk up on his own (although some slopes are too steep even for the Talon Trot). When alone, Kazooie retains the Talon Trot's slope-climbing ability. In ''Banjo-Kazooie'', the two need to learn this to proceed to the next area in the tower after Mumbo's Mountain.

The Talon Trot is a recurring ability in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Talon Trot is first learned from Bottles on Mumbo's Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie and which carries over to Banjo-Tooie. It is one of the earliest moves that Banjo and Kazooie learn, and is required for them to continue past the first floor of Gruntilda's Lair. For the duo perform a Talon Trot, the player must hold Z Button and press Camera left Button, causing Kazooie to stick her legs out of the backpack and carry Banjo around. The Talon Trot's main purpose is to climb steep slopes, but it also allows the duo to move around faster. As a termite, Banjo can go up more steep slopes than the Talon Trot allows for, specifically the slopes in Ticker's Tower. In Banjo-Tooie, Kazooie can use also use this ability while separated from Banjo.

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Bozzeye teaches Talon Trot at Breegull Beach for 140 Musical Notes, although he only teaches it once the duo are reunited. The Talon Trot works the same as in the Nintendo 64 games, but for Banjo and Kazooie to use it, the player must hold down L Button and press R Button. Once the move is active, the player can release both buttons.
