Blue Eggs are the most basic type of egg that Kazooie can fire in the Banjo-Kazooie series.
History
Banjo-Kazooie
Blue Eggs first appear in Banjo-Kazooie, where they act as the sole projectile weapon. Banjo and Kazooie gain the ability to use them after talking to Bottles in Mumbo's Mountain. Like Musical Notes, the Gold and the Red Feathers, Blue Eggs are scattered around the world map for Banjo and Kazooie to collect. The duo can carry up to 100 Blue Eggs, or 200 after meeting Cheato then entering the cheat code "BLUE EGGS" from the Sand Castle.
Blue Eggs are primarily used for solving puzzles, usually leading directly to a Jiggy. Kazooie can fire Blue Eggs either out front or from her backside. She can only fire them in a straight line, and cannot home them on obstacles or enemies. Blue Eggs have the capability of attacking weaker enemies, such as Grublins.
The Blue Eggs are essential throughout the game, namely for filling a Blue Egg Toll or attacking Gruntilda in the final battle. Blue Eggs are a key item for obtaining some Jiggys, including by feeding Juju and Croctus, both who find Blue Eggs tasty, or even patching Leaky up with two Blue Eggs.
A larger variant of the Blue Egg, the Giant Blue Egg, appears as one of the final rooms in Gruntilda's Lair, directly before the final boss fight against Gruntilda. The Giant Blue Egg entirely refills the duo's Blue Egg supply.
Banjo-Tooie
Blue Eggs reappear in Banjo-Tooie, where they can only be collected in groups of nests, just like Musical Notes, Red Feathers, and Gold Feathers. The game also introduced more types of Eggs, such as Fire Eggs or Grenade Eggs, which diminishes the unique purpose of Blue Eggs. While they are the weakest type of egg, Blue Eggs still have the highest maximum capacity. One Blue Egg is even required for activating the Pot o' Gold in Cloud Cuckooland.
