Wading Boots[1][2][3][4] are green rubber boots that Kazooie can temporarily wear to protect her and Banjo from the hazardous terrain, such as Piranhas in Bubblegloop Swamp. Kazooie can only use the Wading Boots once she has learned the Stilt Stride ability.

The boots are time-limited, so the pair must work quickly to cross the terrain before they expire. Pressing B Button will end the effect early before the time limit has expired. Wearing Wading Boots causes Kazooie to walk slower in Banjo-Kazooie, but the speed does not change in Banjo-Tooie. However, jumping is impaired in both games. Kazooie can use the Wading Boots by herself but Banjo cannot. The Wading Boots are used less often in Banjo-Tooie than its predecessor.
