Tiptup, also known as TipTup is a recurring minor character in the Banjo-Kazooie series. He is a green turtle with a brown shell, and made his first appearance in Diddy Kong Racing, along with Banjo.

History

Diddy Kong Racing

In Diddy Kong Racing, Tiptup is classified as a light weight character with excellent handling, medium top speed and high acceleration. Although he doesn't seem to like racing due to his nervous and clumsy nature, he helps his friend Timber to get rid of the evil Wizpig. Unlike Banjo, Tiptup returns as a playable racer in Diddy Kong Racing DS.

Banjo-Kazooie

Tiptup later reappears in Banjo-Kazooie as a side character in Bubblegloop Swamp. After going inside of Tanktup's shell, Banjo and Kazooie are greeted to Tiptup and his own choir, which will give a Jiggy to them if they can complete their music memory minigame. After completing the minigame, Tiptup offers the duo a Jiggy. After leaving Tanktup's shell, Tiptup and his choir aren't seen in the shell anymore.

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, Tiptup reappears with a higher-pitched voice, now revealed to be father of nineteen daughters, and a yet-to-be-born son, later named Tiptup Jr. When Kazooie meets him in Jolly Roger's Lagoon, he remarks that his egg is many months late and not yet hatching, so he asks her to help him hatch the egg. After the egg hatches open, the newly-born Tiptup Jr. falls on his back, unable to move, at which point Tiptup asks her to flip him over by attacking him. Once all is said and done, Tiptup and his son departs to the ocean, but not without giving a Jiggy to Kazooie for all her troubles.

Banjo-Pilot

Tiptup makes a very brief cameo in Banjo-Pilot, only appearing on Clanker's River.

Banjo-X

Tiptup was supposed to reappear in Banjo-X, the cancelled remake of Banjo-Kazooie. Due to it being a remake, it is speculated that Tiptup would have had the same role as in the original game.

Diddy Kong Racing DS

Although Banjo and Conker were cut from Diddy Kong Racing DS due to copyright reasons, Tiptup still reappears in the remake of Diddy Kong Racing, acting the same as he did in the original one.
