Molehills are a used by Bottles in Banjo-Kazooie and later Bozzeye in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. By approaching a molehill, Bottles pops out from it and communicates to Banjo and Kazooie, usually by teaching them a new move. They appear in the first six levels, including Spiral Mountain and Gruntilda's Lair. They serve the same purpose in Grunty's Revenge and appear in every level of the game, including Spiral Mountain.
Molehills have a more minor appearance in Banjo-Tooie, where they appear in Spiral Mountain. Here, Bottles reminds Banjo and Kazooie on how to perform an ability that they learned in Banjo-Kazooie.
