The Beak Bomb is an aerial attack learned in Freezeezy Peak. If N64 is pressed while flying, Banjo and Kazooie will hurl themselves at a target like a missile at the cost of one red feather. This ability is the only attack capable of defeating Sir Slush, and while it is the most damaging of all attacks aside from the Wonderwing, it can be extremely hard to aim, especially when trying to hit a moving target; as such, its main purpose aside from Sir Slushes is hitting switches or targets which are too high for other abilities to reach. The only time the Beak Bomb is ever required to hit a moving target is the final battle with Gruntilda in Banjo-Kazooie, but even then, she is a slow-moving target who sits still every once in awhile.

In Banjo-Tooie, N64 can be held to keep the Beak Bomb going for an additional feather every second. Tilting the control stick also gives the attack limited directionality in mid-air, making course corrections easier if you realize you're about to miss a target (or hit something undesirable). Because of its ability to gain altitude in this way, not to mention the huge horizontal distance it can cover, the Beak Bomb is an excellent way to fly across long distances quickly at a minimal feather cost, considering the steady loss of altitude which accompanies flying normally.

If Beak Bomb is used too close to the ground, Banjo and Kazooie crash on land and lose health; this also results in a period of slowdown as they slide across the ground. The Beak Bomb has its own death animation if Banjo and Kazooie accidentally lose all their health by crashing into a wall or the ground.

One should use this move cautiously, however, for should the pair hit anything which was not intended to be struck with the Beak Bomb, they will suffer injuries and may be forced to land from the sudden drop in altitude if used too close to the ground. Beak Bombing the ground also results in a long period of slowdown as the two slide a fair distance, as well as a loss of health.

“Use the devastating Beak Bomb aerial attack by pressing B Button while Kazooie is flying.”
Bottles, Banjo-Kazooie

The Beak Bomb is a recurring ability in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Overview[edit]

Beak Bomb is an aerial attack that the player can execute by pressing B Button while Kazooie is flying in midair. By doing so, Banjo and Kazooie pull themselves back and then quickly charge like a missile at their target. One Red Feather is used each time they perform the attack. Performing the Beak Bomb can result in Banjo and Kazooie getting hurt if they use it on certain objects, the ground, or walls.

Banjo-Kazooie[edit]

Banjo-Kazooie is the first appearance of Beak Bomb. Banjo and Kazooie learn it in Freezeezy Peak. It is the only attack that can defeat Sir Slushes. Its other purpose is to charge into distant switch and targets. The Beak Bomb is required to hit a moving target in the final boss battle against Gruntilda. It is possible for Banjo and Kazooie to learn Beak Bomb even if they have not learned Flight. In Freezeezy Peak, a Jiggy can be obtained by using Beak Bomb to defeating the Sir Slushes and activating the giant snowman's buttons, respectively, and to obtain an Extra Honeycomb Piece guarded by a Sir Slush. In Gobi's Valley, Beak Bomb can be used to obtain the Jiggy obtained from Rubee and Toots and the eight Musical Notes and Mumbo Token in their temple. In Click Clock Wood, during the winter season, a Mumbo Token can be obtained by defeating a Sir Slush with Beak Bomb. In Gruntilda's Lair, Beak Bomb is needed to reach both Witch Switches in the Freezeezy Peak and Mad Monster Mansion hub areas and obtain their Jiggy, respectively.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

In Banjo-Tooie, Beak Bomb is a move that Banjo and Kazooie can use from the start, like most of the other moves from Banjo-Kazooie. B Button can now also be held to continue using the Beak Bomb, but this uses a Red Feather every second. Tilting the Control Stick also gives the Beak Bomb limited direction in mid-air.
