Flight is a move used by Kazooie in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. It enables her to fly with Banjo and access otherwise unreachable areas using a Flight Pad and Red Feathers.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Bottles teaches Banjo and Kazooie how to fly atop The Salty Hippo in Treasure Trove Cove. It is performed by pressing A Button while on a Flight Pad, then using the Control Stick to steer or R Button to make sharper turns. While flying, A Button can be pressed to go higher in exchange of a Red Feather. Most collectibles can be obtained without using Flight, such as 90 Jiggies, although this means Banjo and Kazooie cannot progress farther than Grunty's Furnace Fun. There are a few Flight Pads that are usable even without learning Flight, but Banjo and Kazooie are still required to have some Red Feathers.

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, Flight is usable from the start, like nearly every other Banjo-Kazooie move, and it retains its general purpose. When Split-Up from Banjo, Kazooie is able to fly by herself.

Jamjars also teaches the duo how to shoot eggs while flying with Camera up Button and Z Button in Witchyworld.

Trivia

  • Unused sprites in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge show a Flight Pad, Red Feathers and Banjo and Kazooie flying, although this move is not present in the final game.
