Jamjars, Banjo-Tooie

Fire Eggs are a recurring item in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Location and uses[edit]

Grunty's Revenge[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the Fire Eggs are taught by Bozzeye at Freezing Furnace for 470 Musical Notes. This makes it the last move that Bozzeye teaches, unlike Banjo-Tooie where Kazooie learns about Fire Eggs near the start of the adventure. Fire Eggs retain their role from Banjo-Tooie, although they do not activate as many switches. Green Spookos can only be defeated by Fire Eggs, which is required during the final boss battle.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

Fire Eggs are one of the five eggs that Kazooie can use in Banjo-Tooie, the first appearance of Fire Eggs. Jamjars teaches her how to use them at the Plateau if she has at least 45 Musical Notes. Fire Eggs are only found in egg caches. Banjo and Kazooie can only carry up to 50, or 100 if they enter the EGGS cheat in the Code Chamber. As a dragon, Kazooie can shoot unlimited Fire Eggs.

Fire Eggs deal more damage than Blue Eggs, although they travel slower and Kazooie can shoot only two at a time. They instantly defeat enemies such as Bang Boxes and Bigfoots. Certain enemies, such as Moggie, run around in panic when hit by a Fire Egg, and Kazooie can defeat it by shooting a second one at it. Fire Eggs have many uses, as they can activate Fire Egg Switches, melt blocks of ice, and light up dark areas. They are also effective underwater.

Banjo-Pilot[edit]

In Banjo-Pilot, Fire Eggs are common items found in quantities of either one or three, which are respectively named Single Red Fire Egg[1] and Triple Red Fire Eggs[1]. Red Fire Eggs home in on the nearest racer in front of whoever used the item. However, if the racer is in first place, a Red Fire Egg has no effect when used. Racers can avoid Fire Eggs with either a Blue Ice Egg or by performing a U-turn when a Red Fire Egg is behind them. Red Fire Eggs are one of the most common items used in the Dogfight mode.
