'''Captain Blackeye''' is a curious character who sits in the back room at [[Jolly]]'s Tavern in [[Jolly Roger's Lagoon]]. He appears to be a pirate, and he drinks perpetually. Blackeye rants continuously about how a bear who looked like [[Banjo]] (or so he believes) stole his glory. He appears to be the same individual seen in pictures in [[Mad Monster Mansion]], albeit a bit more haggard. He is also rumored to be linked to the mysterious Stop 'n' Swop. Captain Blackeye is also suggested to be the owner of the Rusty Bucket in [[Rusty Bucket Bay]].

His purpose in [[Banjo-Tooie]] is very minor. If the player talks to him three times, he will threaten to kill Banjo and Kazooie if they do it again. On the fourth attempt, he will attempt to attack the duo (as implied by his dialogue), but he's too seasick so he gives Banjo and Kazooie two doubloons to fetch him a glass of water, but then he faints in a comical fashion, and can still be talked to as he spouts off his infamous remarks.

Captain Blackeye is a recurring character in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Captain Blackeye is a large human pirate originally planned as the main antagonist of the cancelled game Dream: Land of Giants. He is a perpetual drinker with depression, which is implied to be because he "had a dream once" where a bear stole his glory.

Banjo-Kazooie[edit]

Captain Blackeye first appears in Banjo-Kazooie, although only as a cameo in the form of a portrait in the mansion of Mad Monster Mansion. The portrait depicts his artwork from Dream: Land of Giants, but is cropped to his head.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

In Banjo-Tooie, Captain Blackeye has a minor role, sitting in the back of a bar in Jolly Roger's Lagoon. If Banjo talks to him three times, he threatens to attack him and Kazooie. On the fourth attempt, he tries to attack them (as implied by his dialogue). However, Blackeye is too seasick, as shown from his green face, and falls on his back. Instead, he gives Banjo and Kazooie two Doubloons to fetch him a glass of water. Captain Blackeye then faints, but can still be interacted with as he spouts off his remarks.

Nuts & Bolts[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Captain Blackeye makes a cameo on the Boot in a Box weapon. His picture is on a wanted poster, and there is a shop called "Blackeye's Boat Hire" near the LOGBOX 720 doors.

Other appearances[edit]

In Grabbed by the Ghoulies, pictures of Captain Blackeye can be seen in various rooms of Ghoulhaven Hall. They look very similar to his picture in Banjo-Kazooie.

In Viva Piñata and Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise, a statue of Captain Blackeye called the "Pirate Statue" can be placed on the garden. In Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, piñatas can also wear the "Blackeye Patch."
