“Quickly we must go, or angry Grunty will be!”
Blobbelda, Banjo-Tooie

Blobbelda, occasionally nicknamed Blobby, is a recurring character in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Physical traits[edit]

Blobbelda is short, obese, has orange hair and orange warts on her face and body. Blobbelda wears a dark purple dress.

Personality[edit]

Despite having helped in the construction of the Big-O-Blaster, Blobbelda is shown to be rather unintelligent. She is often the first to lose in the Tower of Tragedy Quiz of Banjo-Tooie, with Gruntilda saying that her score (generally a low number) is "as low as her IQ."

Biography[edit]

Blobbelda is one of Gruntilda's three sisters, along with Mingella and Brentilda. Blobbelda is paired with Mingella, and both of them only appear in Banjo-Tooie, as secondary antagonists. She carries around a gray cat, Puddles, with her. Both Blobbelda and Mingella speak in anastrophe.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

In their first appearance, Banjo-Tooie, Blobbelda and Mingella first appear in the opening cutscene, where they arrive at Spiral Mountain and lift the boulder that Grunty has been stuck under, freeing her. Shortly after Grunty is freed, she and her sisters go into the Hag 1 and leave for Cauldron Keep.

At the Tower of Tragedy Quiz show, Blobbelda and Mingella are contestants. Both of them end up losing, causing a 1-ton weight to drop on them.

Grunty's Revenge[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge's ending, Blobbelda and Mingella are vaguely mentioned by Grunty, who orders Klungo to get her sisters to help her, thus starting the events of Banjo-Tooie.

Nuts & Bolts[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Mingella and Blobbelda are vaguely mentioned in Spiral Mountain by a information speaker in the description for "Grunty's Grave." It mentions that, after being buried under a rock in the events of Banjo-Kazooie, Gruntilda was "brought back by her sisters as an even less attractive skeleton."

Flavor text[edit]

  • Banjo-Tooie manual profile (shared with Mingella): "The comical appearance of tall, thin Mingella and short, fat Blobbelda is a perfect disguise for their magical prowess, which makes short work of the giant boulder that covered their elder sister's grave. Not since childhood have the wart-covered coven been together, and as a result the odds have suddenly swung back to three against two in their favour!"

Quotes[edit]
