“Oooo...My feet are so numb and cold!”
Tanktup, Banjo-Kazooie

Tanktup is a character in Banjo-Kazooie.

Biography[edit]

Banjo-Kazooie[edit]

In his first appearance, Banjo-Kazooie, Tanktup is a large turtle who appears in Bubblegloop Swamp, where he houses Tiptup and his choir inside his shell. Tanktup complains about how his feet are numb and cold. Banjo and Kazooie can help him by using the Beak Buster move in them, causing the feet to retract back inside Tanktup's shell. He then thanks the two and rewards them with a Jiggy that comes out of his mouth. Once it is collected, the pair can also enter his mouth to find Tiptup and his choir practicing.

Four Musical Notes can be found on Tanktup, atop each foot. A pair of Wading Boots, which can be used to rescue an orange Jinjo nearby, can also be worn above his shell.

Tanktup is also featured in the Xbox 360 theme of the Xbox Live Arcade release of Banjo-Kazooie.

A beta clip from 1998 shows that originally, Tanktup was green, rather than brown.

Nuts & Bolts[edit]

Banjo and Kazooie could enter Tanktup in Bubblegloop Swamp once they'd warmed his feet and he'd barfed up a Jiggy. This is just a wooden effigy, as Tanktup's whereabouts are currently unknown.”
Infopost, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, a wooden effigy of Tanktup can be found as an exhibit in an underwater area of Banjoland, near the Salty Hippo and U.F.O. exhibits.
