Boom Boxes, also known as TNT Boom Boxes[1], are explosive crate enemies who appear throughout the Banjo-Kazooie series. Their name is a pun on a boombox, a type of portable music player.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Boom Boxes are found in Rusty Bucket Bay. If Banjo touches a Boom Box, it explodes on him, causing him to take damage. Kazooie can make a Boom Box explode by firing an egg at it. Boom Boxes can also be safely defeated with Wonderwing. Boom Boxes explode after a few seconds of chasing Banjo and Kazooie. The boss of Rusty Bucket Bay is a large Boom Box named Boss Boom Box.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, TNT Boom Boxes appear in both Spiller's Harbor and Freezing Furnace. Boom Boxes act the same as in Banjo-Kazooie, although the variety of eggs allows for more ways that Kazooie can defeat them.
