Gruntlings are enemies debuting in Banjo-Kazooie, that later reappeared in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. As their name implies, they are Gruntilda's minions. There are many types of Gruntlings, identified by the color of their cloaks.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

Gruntlings debuted in Banjo-Kazooie, where they appear as enemies in Gruntilda's Lair. There are only three types, the red, blue and black Gruntlings.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Gruntlings have a much more major role compared to their previous appearance, acting as Gruntilda's main minions and appearing as enemies in every world, with two more types than previously. Additionally, in the world Bad Magic Bayou, there is a mini-boss called Gruntling Commander who summons one of each type of Gruntling.
