A '''Grille Chompa''' is an enemy found in [[Clanker's Cavern]], [[Mad Monster Mansion]] (inside [[Loggo]]), [[Rusty Bucket Bay]] and in several areas around [[Gruntilda's Lair]] such as the entrance to Clanker's Cavern and the entrance to Rusty Bucket Bay in ''[[Banjo-Kazooie]]''. They are large, carnivorous creatures found within broken grates on walls in damp and dark areas, and are a dirty green color. If [[Banjo]] and [[Kazooie]] get too close, the Grille Chompa growls and lunges from its hole, biting at the air three times before retreating back. It continues to do so until Banjo and Kazooie move away from it or until it is defeated.

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Grille Chompas are found in many worlds such as Gruntilda's Lair, Clanker's Cavern, inside Loggo's sewer in Mad Monster Mansion (where a variant called Portrait Chompa is also introduced) and Rusty Bucket Bay. When exposed, they can be easily be defeated with many attacks such as the Rat-a-tat Rap.

Additionally, the Big Cluckers in Click Clock Wood act very similarly to Grille Chompas.

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Grille Chompas are found in Bad Magic Bayou, Spiller's Harbor and inside Grunty Industries in the Freezing Furnace. They have different colors depending on the world they're in, being green or magenta in the first two and red in the last one.

They behave much like they did in Banjo-Kazooie, appearing from holes in the walls to attack Banjo and Kazooie and being vulnerable when exposed.
