Mumbo's Skull,[1][2][3], also formatted as Mumbo's skull,[4] and formerly known as Mumbo's Hut[5][6] or Mumbo's hut,[7] is a recurring location in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

Features and overview[edit]

Mumbo's Skull is the residence of Mumbo Jumbo.

Banjo-Kazooie[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie, Mumbo's Skull is a small room with a pad in the middle, four torches (with one of them being unlit, allowing it to be climbed) and a throne, where Mumbo Jumbo sits in. The building appears in five worlds: Mumbo's Mountain, Bubblegloop Swamp, Freezeezy Peak, Mad Monster Mansion and Click Clock Wood, only slightly changing in the third one where it appears visibly frozen. There is also a sign next to the shaman in each world, displaying the number of Mumbo Tokens needed for the transformation.

Grunty's Revenge[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, a version of Mumbo's Skull in the past named Mumbo's Pad is present.

Banjo-Tooie[edit]

In Banjo-Tooie, Mumbo's Skull has been rebuilt by Mumbo Jumbo and is now much bigger, having two floors. In the first one, there is a circle with green light coming out of it and items inside. In the second one, there are two windows and a throne where the shaman sits. The hut's outside appearance is different in most worlds, matching the location's theme. While in Mayahem Temple the building looks normal, in Glitter Gulch Mine it is made of dirt, in Witchyworld it is red and has devil horns, in Hailfire Peaks it resembles a volcano (and additionally has a breakable wall leading to Wumba's Wigwam) and in Grunty Industries it is made of metal.

In Jolly Roger's Lagoon, there is a cracked wall that, when opened with a Grenade Egg, Clockwork Kazooie Egg or Mumbo's magic stick, leads to the Turtle View Cave and in Cloud Cuckooland, there are two skulls; a red and a blue one, with one of them containing a Minjo and Mumbo Jumbo and the other a Jinjo and Mingy Jongo.

Banjo-Pilot[edit]

In Banjo-Pilot, Mumbo's Skull appears in the background of the Mayahem Temple course.

Nuts & Bolts[edit]

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, a flat, wooden cutout of Mumbo's Skull is featured in front of Mumbo's Motors in Showdown Town. It can also be seen in Banjoland.
