Boom Box

Boom Boxes, also known as TNT Boom Boxes[1] are explosive crate enemies that appear in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. The word "TNT" is written on their side in red ink (or brown in Grunty's Revenge). Their name is a pun on a boombox, a type of portable music player.

Enemies do not get much more intimidating than a box labeled "TNT" in big red letters with sharp teeth, and this one has an attitude to match its appearance, aggressively chasing after anyone that gets too close with the intent of self-destructing so they can blow them up.

Game appearances

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, Boom Boxes are found in Rusty Bucket Bay. If Banjo touches a Boom Box, it explodes on him, causing him to take damage. Kazooie make a Boom Box explode by firing an egg at it. Boom Boxes can also be safely defeated with Wonderwing. Boom Boxes explode after a few seconds of chasing Banjo and Kazooie.

Grunty's Revenge

In Grunty's Revenge, Boom Boxes appear in both Spiller's Harbor and Freezing Furnace. Boom Boxes act the same as in Banjo-Kazooie, although the variety of eggs allows for more ways that Kazooie can defeat them.
