The Claw Swipe is the first ability that Banjo learns from Bottles in Banjo-Kazooie. It is taught in Spiral Mountain, when Banjo fights a Topper. It can be used by simply pressing B Button while either idle or by moving slowly. When used, Banjo swipes his claws and takes a couple of steps forward. The Claw Swipe is optional to use, and is one of the weakest of the game.

Claw Swipe is one of the only abilities that does not appear in Banjo-Tooie. It was replaced with Kazooie's Peck attack, or Pack Whack if Banjo and Kazooie are separated.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Claw Swipe appears as Banjo's neutral standard attack.
