Quarries are boulder enemies who appear in Spiral Mountain, debuting in Banjo-Kazooie.

History

Banjo-Kazooie

In Banjo-Kazooie, the Quarries are one of the four training enemies at the start of the game, the other three being Topper, Bawl, and Colliwobble. Their main purpose is for Bottles to teach Banjo and Kazooie on how to use the Beak Barge ability. Quarries are the only enemy who are incapable of both moving and attacking the duo. Once Banjo and Kazooie smash all four Quarries in Spiral Mountain for the first time, the last one will drop an Extra Honeycomb Piece.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Quarries reappear in the background of the Spiral Mountain stage in the same location they were found in the original Banjo-Kazooie, although lacking eyes and instead resembling more closely regular boulders.
