Gruntweeds are monsters that were artificially created by Klungo in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. He created them by mixing Gruntlings and Whiplashes together. These plant enemies disguise as grass in the ground and fly into the air when Banjo and Kazooie passes by. The Gruntweed then hops out of its place and tries to attack Banjo. It stays on the ground for a few seconds before going back up. Gruntweeds are immune to the Forward Roll, so Banjo must use his Pack Whack attack on the Gruntweed while it is on the ground.
A specific Gruntweed bothers a pen of Bleaters, wanting to "play" with them while not letting them leave the pen, so Banjo must defeat it in order to save them.
