Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Curse was the cancelled Game Boy Color incarnation of what would eventually become Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge.

Development[edit]

Initial planning for the game first emerged in August of 1999. For the remainder of the year, a small team conceived of the various worlds that would make up the game, as well as the creatures that would inhabit them. According to leaked documents, Spiral Mountain and Mad Monster Mansion were slated to appear in the title. Original levels included the ancient jungle ruins of MohendraBanjo and the dark industrial area Fiery Furnace; both of these areas would get cut in the final Grunty's Revenge game.
