Stomponadon is a giant dinosaur appearing in Banjo-Tooie who is very large in size and is known to be the biggest character in the Banjo-Kazooie series as only his foot is visible in the game.

He resides in the Stomping Plains of Terrydactyland. Unable to be killed or damaged in any way, his purpose as one of Banjo-Tooie's several crushing hazards is to aggravate the player and impede progress. His love of stomping, as his name implies, racks up great damage upon those who wish to cross his territory; his stomp will flatten Banjo and/or Kazooie and reduce them to one honeycomb instantly, and a second hit without recovering health is fatal.

Large footprints in the ground will provide cover, but you'll need to be quick to move from print to print without being squished; the Talon Trot is usually fast enough, although the Wonderwing will offer protection if you want to be cautious, but Banjo alone does not have the necessary speed to make it across without being stepped on, so the Snooze Pack ability is required to recover energy in between stomps. (Banjo and Kazooie must cross separately in order to grab all the goodies at the other side.)

Judging by the shape of Stomponadon's foot, he would appear to be based on members of the Theropoda suborder of dinosaurs, such as a Tyrannosaurus Rex or something similar, although the exact species is impossible to identify. Oddly enough, the footprints left in the Stomping Plains are those of a sauropod, such as a Diplodicus.

Trivia

  • When King Jingaling becomes a zombie and you go and attack him, he'll warn you about Stomponadon and he will say "Be quick on the plains, Stomponadon shows no mercy..."
  • Because Stomponadon never speaks, the character portrait of a Bargasaurus is instead used to represent the Stomping Plains warp pad.
  • If you go to the Stomping Plains as a van, you would be crushed and return to Jinjo Village.
  • It is possible to reach the other side of Stomping Plains as Banjo without the Snooze Pack. It is easy to get from footprint to footprint if you have the SUPERBANJO cheat. Alternatively, you can use the HONEYBACK cheat to gain health back if you've been stomped.
