Gruntweeds are monsters that were artificially created by Klungo in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. He created them by mixing Gruntlings and Whiplashes together. These plant enemies disguise as grass in the ground and fly into the air when Banjo and Kazooie passes by. The Gruntweed then hops out of its place and tries to attack Banjo and Kazooie.
Gruntweeds appear to be immune to the Forward Roll attack from Banjo so Banjo must use his Pack Whack attack on the Gruntweed when it still is on the ground within a few second limit.
