(Rewriting. I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe Beehives appear in B-T. Otherwise the mimic hives wouldn't really be an effective camouflage. Speaking of which, should mimic hives go here?)

This article is about the enemy. For the health source, please see Hive.

Beehives are passive enemies found in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie As their name implies, they're not much more than wooden beehives. Present in every world in Banjo-Kazooie, Beehives bounce up and down innocently and are defenseless against attacks by hungry honey bears. It only takes a single swipe, and defeating one yields three tasty honeycombs, making them more of a free source of energy rather than obstacles.

Although Beehives are defenseless, they are not always harmless. Some Beehives in later worlds can be seen with a swarm of bees buzzing around them. They will happily ignore Banjo until the Beehive is destroyed, at which point the enraged insects will chase and sting him relentlessly until he can move safely out of range. Angry bees cannot be defeated and will not leave Banjo alone until he leaves the world. Swarms of bees without hives can also be seen in Click Clock Wood during the summertime and will attack without provocation; since they can't be killed and do not guard any honey, simply avoiding them is the best course of action when encountered.
