Bawl is an onion bulb who is one of 4 training enemies found on Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie. His main purpose is to aid Bottles in teaching Banjo the Forward Roll ability. He is short, brown and white, and has a green stem on his head.

Bawl, in addition to Topper, Colliwobble and Quarrie (the other tutorial enemies), were arrested by the "rubbish video game character police" according to Rare, along with Brentilda, Tooty and Jamjars. However, he (or at least a robotic version of him) reappears in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

Trivia

  • Bawl's name may be a reference to the myth that cutting onions makes you cry.
