Extra Lives, also known as Golden Banjo Statues, are only found in Banjo-Kazooie and give Banjo and Kazooie one extra life. Because Banjo-Tooie did not have a life system as did its predecessor, the Golden Banjo Statues were not needed. The statues were rarely found in open places and required Banjo and Kazooie to use quick movements and decisive thinking to acquire them.

As their name implies, once obtained, these give Banjo and Kazooie one extra life. They are muscular golden statues of Banjo.

Whenever a game file is loaded, the duo begin with three lives (regardless of how many they had when the file was last played). Up t nine lives can be collected. They can be found in virtually every level. The statues are usually hidden and require Banjo and Kazooie to use quick movements and decisive thinking to acquire them.
