Quarries are boulder enemies that appear in Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie. They are one of the four training enemies at the start of the game, the other three being Topper, Bawl, and Colliwobble.
Their main purpose is for Bottles to teach Banjo and Kazooie on how to use the Beak Barge ability. Quarries are the only enemy who are incapable of both moving and attacking the duo. Once Banjo and Kazooie smash all four Quarries in Spiral Mountain for the first time, the last one will drop an Extra Honeycomb Piece.
According to an issue of Rare Scribes, Quarrie, Topper, Bawl and Colliwobble were all arrested by the "rubbish video game character police" for no longer having purpose in the Banjo-Kazooie games.
