Napper, Banjo-Kazooie

Napper is a green ghost who appears to be a large Tee-Hee found in Mad Monster Mansion.

He was entrusted by Gruntilda to keep a Jiggy from Banjo and Kazooie. He is transparent when he is asleep but becomes closer to opaque when he is awake. He is a light sleeper; just the slightest creak in the floorboards will wake him up. To get the Jiggy, you must enter the Mansion from the chimney on the roof and hop from the fireplace to the chairs to the table without stepping on the floor and walk through him. Obtaining the Jiggy will cause him to flee for fear of Gruntilda's wrath.

Trivia

  • In many ways, Ssslumber the Snake is his spiritual successor in Banjo-Tooie.
  • An unused music track called "Giant" appears to have his laugh. Because of this, it's believed that Napper may have once been a giant in the game. This is supported by the fact that the dinning room he is in is extremely huge and he, himself is huge as well.
  • According to Grant Kirkhope in Guest Grumps, his voice was a banjo sample that was slowed down.
