Dippy is a Diplodocus in Terrydactyland. She stays inside her cave (which is impossible to enter) to avoid the sun burning her skin, a possible reference to scientists believing that many dinosaurs indeed prefer to stay out of the sun for this reason. She's very thirsty, and the pool outside her cave from where she drinks is completely dried up. Asking Banjo and Kazooie to fetch her water leads to Kazooie exclaiming that water won't simply "fall from the sky", but her problem is indeed solved when the duo drain a pool up inside Cloud Cuckooland. Dippy remarks that it tastes heavenly and rewards the player with a Jiggy that is automatically added to their collection without having to return to Terrydactyland.
Dippy is the only character to have a boss-style description without having the boss music play when she is introduced: "DIPPY: Seeker of beverages."
