World(s) | Spiral Mountain |
Bawl is an onion who is one of four training enemies found on Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie. His main purpose is to aid Bottles in teaching Banjo the Forward Roll ability. He is short, brown and white, and has a green stem on his head.
Bawl, as well as Topper, Colliwobble and Quarrie (the other tutorial enemies), were all arrested by the "rubbish video game character police" for no longer having purpose in the Banjo-Kazooie games, according to Rare. However, he (or at least a robotic version of him) reappears in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
Banjo-Kazooie
Bawl appears in Banjo-Kazooie to aid Bottles in training Banjo. Bawl can only be defeated at first by doing Forward Roll, later on Bawl can be defeated by any move after being taught the Forward Roll.

Trivia
- Bawl's name may be a reference to the fact that cutting onions open releases gases that often cause irritation of the eyes, causing the emission of tears.
- At first, Banjo is unable to defeat Bawl without the Forward Roll, but after Bottles teaches you the basics, he can be defeated with any attack.
