Grille Chompa is a common enemy found in Clanker's Cavern and several places around Gruntilda's Lair in Banjo-Kazooie. This bizarre fish- or slug-like monster hides within broken grates on walls in damp areas. If Banjo gets too close, the Chompa will growl and lunge from its hole, biting at the air a few times before retreating back; it will continue to do this until Banjo moves away. Although this baddie looks tough, it has extremely low vitality and can be killed with a single well-timed attack whenever its body is exposed.
