Gruntilda ripped out the pages of her spellbook, Cheato, after he aided Banjo and Kazooie throughout their adventure in Banjo-Kazooie. She scattered the pages around the Isle o' Hags and its various worlds. As a result, Cheato sent Banjo and Kazooie on a quest to retrieve them. For every five pages Banjo and Kazooie brought back to Cheato, he would give them one cheat code. Each cheat code was able to be activated in the Code Room inside the Pyramid of Mayahem Temple. In total, Cheato gave Banjo and Kazooie five cheat codes for returning all twenty-five Cheato Pages in the game.
