This is a proposal to establish the position "Editor-in-Chief" as detailed on Jiggywikki:Editor-in-Chief.

This proposal will pass once a consensus is established, and with a vote ratio of at least at least 3:1 in support's favor.

Please only give a "support" or "oppose" vote with a valid reason to back it up. Any votes without a valid reason, or any reason at all, will be struck down.

If no consensus is achieved before 00:00 UTC on the 8th of May, 2022, then the proposal will expire and position will not be created.

Support[edit]

  1. As I mentioned in the Discord, it's definitely good to know who's the person in charge of the wiki, who to contact, can be quickly reached for various improvements, knowledgeable of good editors who can be promoted. They don't have to be excessively active on the wiki, but they should be available for such events. -Vipz (talk) 20:27, April 23, 2022 (UTC)
  2. Seems like a good thing to have -Magma (talk) 21:04, April 23, 2022 (UTC)

Oppose[edit]

  1. Unnecessary pushes responsibility on one person who might one day no longer have interest -Captain_Blackeye (talk) 16:16, April 27, 2022 (UTC)

Comments[edit]

Forgot to check in on new votes here. There should be no problems whether or not the person who loses interest in the wiki informs us, we just hold a new election when we notice that inactivity or get informed about their retirement. If we have the position, it can stay vacant but potentially held by a willing person in the future. Anyone elected is asked and can express that they don't want to be EiC, and nothing is then forcibly pushed onto them. Considering that this isn't an overly active wiki, I doubt a lot of work is ahead of an EiC, than they had as an admin. -Vipz (talk) 20:16, May 7, 2022 (UTC)

I'll put my vote as neutral. Other wikis work just fine without a "head of staff", but if that's what people want I won't object. Toomai Glittershine 20:57, May 7, 2022 (UTC)
