A '''Ripper''' is a type of enemy in the [[Banjo-Kazooie series|''Banjo-Kazooie'' franchise]]. They are gray mobile tombstones with bulbous eyes. Their names are most likely derived from the phrase "R.I.P." (a short abbreviation for "rest in peace").

Rippers are mildly common enemies native to [[Mad Monster Mansion]], but a few can also be found at the entrance to said world at [[Gruntilda's Lair]]. Rippers camouflage themselves, posing among the other normal gravestones while sitting perfectly still, patiently waiting for [[Banjo]] and [[Kazooie]] to pass by before popping up to attack them in ambush.

Being made of stone, Rippers are very strong and take multiple hits to defeat. While Rippers are quite strong if taken head-on, if attacked from the back with the [[Rat-a-tat Rap]] ability, they can be defeated much easier and quicker, being smashed in just a single hit.

The Rippers in Mad Monster Mansion, are somewhat smaller than the ones outside the world's entrance.

Simplistic, rudimentary replicas of Rippers appear as decorations in [[Banjoland]]. Several appear on display in a makeshift graveyard in front to Mad Monster exhibit.

 

They are bolted down to the ground, however [[Kazooie]] can take control of their arms by using [[Magic Wrench|Mumbo's Wrench]] and spin them around.
