For article and section names, most other wikis (like Wikipedia for instance, the mother of all wikis) only capitalize the first word and any proper nouns in the title (i.e. Banjo-Kazooie series vs. Banjo-Kazooie Series), whereas people here seem to prefer capitalizing every word ('cept prepositions like of and stuff of course), treating the whole title kind of like, say, the title of a book or something. Another wikia I visit recently had a debate about this and after a little while ended up going with capitalizing proper nouns and first words only. I'm not saying either is right or wrong, or that we should conform to other wikis, but I'd like to bring this to people's attention before somebody else does so a year or two down the road and we end up having to go through every article and changing the titles. So, what're everyone's thoughts? Jimbo-Jambo

Lol, I believe I'm one of those capitalize every word people. I think we should try to stick to lowercase too but to sometimes have capitalization, depending on the situation. Say, "Banjo-Kazooie series" is good. But I would say "The Jinjo Oracle" and "List of Items and Objects" is fine. I'd be unsure about something like "Red Feathers". Well, character names are proper nouns anyway (and enemies are usually capitalized as well, even in the middle of sentences), and items...well, I guess they could possibly go either way, but I think they'd most likely remain lowercase in that case. Let's see if we can get some other opinions though... Jimbo-Jambo
Hmmmm...I'm a bit mixed. I understand that it would depend on the situation, but I'm most concerned about item names. I don't know if we should capitalize the items completely, like Red Feathers, because some of--many of them--are also common words, and some people might get confused. However, some of them, like the one mentioned above, aren't that common in articles, and we're generally talking about them in most cases. There's also the fact that the game itself might treat the items as all capitalized, which is what I know some games do. I think it would make the most sense, though, if the item's got a word that isn't real--Hookshots, for example, in the Zelda series, aren't real...though I think I've seen most people just uncapitalize them. Shoot, come to think of it, I use the names of different pokémon when speaking about them without using proper nouns that way...and I also use their general categorial name like that, as you saw above...damn. So, uh, I guess...just do what seems right to you, that's what I'd say. See ya!! FerreTrip 21:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
