Extra Lives, also known as Golden Banjo Statues, are only found in Banjo-Kazooie and give Banjo and Kazooie one extra life. Because Banjo-Tooie did not have a life system as did its predecessor, the Golden Banjo Statues were not needed. The statues were rarely found in open places and required Banjo and Kazooie to use quick movements and decisive thinking to acquire them.

The lives counter in Banjo-Kazooie is only a single digit, and does not rise above 9. However, lives do not stop being counted past 9.
