Why do you think they stopped at 882 notes needed to open the last door? It keeps increasing by 18 after the last necessary Note Door, and increasing 882 by 18 would bring it up to 900, the number of Notes in the game. I don't know; where else in the Lair would you put a Note Door? I can't think of anywhere. I always thought they used 828, 846, 864, and 882 because they were all between 800 and 900 and were "anagrams" of eacn other (828 to 882, 846 to 864).
