Wading Boots (aka Swamp Boots) are rubber boots that are worn to protect Banjo and Kazooie from various otherwise-damaging terrain, such as Piranha Water in Bubblegloop Swamp, while using the Stilt Stride ability.

Location and uses
The boots are time-limited, so the pair must work quickly to cross the terrain before they expire. Pressing B will end the effect early before the time limit has expired. Wearing Wading Boots causes Kazooie to walk slower than usual in Banjo-Kazooie, while there is no speed change in Banjo-Tooie. However, jumping is impaired in both games. When alone, Kazooie can use the boots but Banjo cannot.
Wading Boots are green boots that, with the Stilt Stride move, can be temporarily worn by Kazooie, allowing her and Banjo to walk above hazards in the ground.

The Wading Boots are used less often in Banjo-Tooie than in Banjo-Kazooie.

In Banjo-Kazooie, Wading Boots first appear in Bubblegloop Swamp. When worn, they slow down Banjo and Kazooie and lower their jump height, automatically disappearing after a certain ammount of time. Pressing N64 will do that earlier, however.

In Banjo-Tooie, Wading Boots are used the same way as they did in the previous game. However, Banjo and Kazooie's speed while wearing them is no longer changed.

*Breegull Waders description: "The original stop swamp monsters from chomping your legs and feet. Again, these are just replicas, which is a good thing as the originals would disappear within a few moments of putting them on, usually giving the wearer just enough time to navigate a well-thought-out and cleverly positioned mass of swamp. Cocoadiles wearing this become master gardeners."
