'''Gruntweeds''' are monsters that were artificially created by [[Klungo]] in ''[[Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge]]''. He created them by mixing [[Gruntling]]s and [[Whiplash]]es together. These plant enemies disguise as grass in the ground and fly into the air when [[Banjo]] and [[Kazooie]] passes by. The Gruntweed then hops out of its place and tries to attack Banjo. It stays on the ground for a few seconds before going back up. Gruntweeds are immune to the [[Forward Roll]], so Banjo must use his [[Pack Whack]] attack on the Gruntweed while it is on the ground.

A specific Gruntweed bothers a pen of [[Bleater]]s, wanting to "play" with them while not letting them leave the pen, so Banjo must defeat it in order to save them.
