Location and uses
Golden Feathers are used to perform the Wonderwing ability. Each Golden Feather allows Banjo and Kazooie two seconds of almost-complete invulnerability. Golden Feathers are quite rare, usually being found in no more than pairs. Kazooie can only carry 10 of them (or 20 when Banjo finds Cheato and types in GOLDFEATHERS on the Treasure Trove Cove)  equating to 20 seconds of Wonderwing time (or 40). The initial amount is 25 in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge.
Golden Feathers allow Banjo and Kazooie to perform Wonderwing, with each one granting only two seconds of invulnerability. Golden Feathers are uncommon, and are usually found in pairs.

Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Pilot, the Gold Feather is an item that can be obtained by racers in 7th or 8th place. As expected, it makes the user temporarily invernerable, which renders them immune to attacks, provides a small speed boost, and allows them to wipe out opponents by crashing into them.
In Banjo-Kazooie, their first appearance, Banjo and Kazooie can only carry up to 10 Golden Feathers. GOLDFEATHERS is one of the three cheats provided by Cheato, and when Banjo and Kazooie enter it in Treasure Trove Cove's Sandcastle, their maximum capacity is doubled to 20 Golden Feathers. There is a Giant Gold Feather in a room of Gruntilda's Lair, which is before the final battle with Gruntilda, and it replenishes Banjo and Kazooie's entire supply of Gold Feathers.

Grunty's Revenge
In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the Golden Feathers reappear, having the same role as in the previous games. Banjo and Kazooie can carry up to 25 Golden Feathers.

Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo-Tooie, Golden Feathers have the same role and maximum capacity as in Banjo-Kazooie.

Banjo-Pilot
In Banjo-Pilot, the Gold Feather is an item that can be obtained by racers in 7th or 8th place. Like the Super Stars from the Mario Kart series, the Golden Feather grants temporary invincibility to the racer. It also provides a slight speed boost and knocks out any other racers in the way.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Golden Feathers are once again used to perform the Wonderwing. At the beginning of a normal match, Banjo and Kazooie start with five Golden Feathers, indicated above their head when the match begins, although in Stamina Mode they begin with a variable amount based on the starting health of the player, and in Sudden Death they only have one. When the duo begin the Wonderwing, their count of Golden Feathers appears above their head, and one feather flies away (similarly to how they fly off in the original games) if they successfully execute the move. When all five Golden Feathers are used, the Wonderwing cannot be used until Banjo and Kazooie get KOed, which will respawn them with the amount they had at the start of the match.
