Have you heard of the automatic welcome system (the Wikia Welcome Tool)? In case you don't know, it automatically welcomes a user who makes their first edit and makes a talk page for them in the name of the most recent admin to make an edit (usually me, as it happens).

So...what do you guys think of it? Should we disable it, keep it, or alter what it says? There are a few pages (listed at the link above) that can be changed to edit it. (Please don't do so unless you're an admin.) Toomai Glittershine The Table Designer 02:54, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Deny it. The welcome template is a lot better than this auto stuff. My view, no. --Jiggy-1.gifArav the Undersith 10:21, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, if I understand correctly, I think we can edit the autowelcomer to use our welcome template. Toomai Glittershine The Table Designer 13:26, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

After having a look at the code used, I've decided to disable the autowelcomer. However, once I can patch our welcome template into the autowelcomer, I will re-activate it unless there is consensus otherwise. Toomai Glittershine eXemplary Logic 00:31, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Actually, I agree with Toomai, put the auto-welcome on with our welcome template. --Jiggy-1.gifArav the Undersith 07:30, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
