Characteristics
Quarrie is an enemy, found at Spiral Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie. He is a boulder who is one of four training enemies at the start of the game. The other three are Topper, Bawl and Colliwobble. Its main purpose was to aid Bottles in teaching Banjo and Kazooie the Beak Barge ability. This short, brown enemy is different from the other training enemies on Spiral Mountain in that it never moves and cannot injure the player.
Quarries are brown boulders with green eyes.

Biography
He, Topper, Bawl and Colliwobble (the other vegetable enemies) were arrested by the "rubbish video game character police" according to Rare, along with Brentilda, Tooty and Jamjars. However, he and the rest of the vegetable enemies have a chance of reappearing in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, because Rare stated they were "releasing" one character (or group of characters) from the police to reappear in the game.
Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Kazooie, the Quarries are one of the four training enemies in Spiral Mountain at the start, the other three being Topper, Bawl, and Colliwobble. Their main purpose is for Bottles to teach Banjo and Kazooie on how to use the Beak Barge ability. Quarries are the only enemy who are incapable of both moving and attacking the duo. Once Banjo and Kazooie smash all four Quarries in Spiral Mountain for the first time, the last one will drop an Extra Honeycomb Piece.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Trivia
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Quarries reappear in the background of the Spiral Mountain stage in the same location they were found in the original Banjo-Kazooie, although lacking eyes and instead resembling more closely regular boulders.
*He is often mistaken to be a potato by players because all the other training enemies are vegetables (except for Bawl).
