It can first accessed by opening the [[Talon Torpedo Door]] ([[Talon Torpedo]] must first be learned in [[Jolly Roger's Lagoon]]) in the pool of water in [[Pine Grove]]. (The second battle with [[Klungo]] occurs between the two areas the first time it is accessed.) Wasteland contains entrances to two worlds, [[Terrydactyland]] and [[Cloud Cuckooland]].

| The area features a large dinosaur head-shaped boulder with serves as the entrance to Terrydactyland and a platform, accessible only through a small crevice in the wall to the left of the entrance to Terrydactyland), from which a bubble elevator serves as the entrance to Cloud Cuckooland. On the opposite side of the silo from Terrydactyland, there are some platforms that lead up to what looks like two [[Jinjos]]. One is a real Jinjo, and the other is a [[Minjo]]. Finally, the digger tunnel to [[Quagmire]] is located on the far end of the area with respect to the digger tunnel from Pine Grove; it can be accessed only after learning how to use [[Spring Step Shoes]] in [[Terrydactyland]].
