Targitzan first appears in ''[[Banjo-Tooie]]'' as a boss in the game. He gives [[Banjo]] and [[Kazooie]] his own [[Targitzan's Temple Challenge|challenge]]. He, at first tells Banjo and Kazooie to learn the [[Breegull Blaster]] in order to enter the temple's challenge. The duo must go to [[Jamjars]] outside of the temple to learn Breegull Blaster. Then, Banjo and Kazooie can enter the temple to do Targitzan's challenge. They must first aim for gaining ten jade statues to enter his "Slightly Sacred Chamber" where a [[Jiggy]] lies and which they must collect. Then twenty to gain entry to his "Really Sacred Chamber", where he lies and where the duo can fight him.

In order for Banjo and Kazooie to defeat him, Banjo must use Kazooie's Breegull Blaster ability to strafe around the arena and shoot the targets with [[eggs]] on his segments until it breaks apart. Once one of his segments is broken off, Targitzan summons [[Moggie]]s to combat the duo. First time, he sends out one Moggie, second being two, third and onwards being three. Banjo and Kazooie, however, have to fight the Moggies before resuming the fight with Targitzan as his targets turn black and cannot become hit. He also has multiple faces on his sides that are capable of shooting out darts from their mouths, making the battle considerably harder. More faces shooting darts become revealed when Banjo and Kazooie destroy segment from segment of his sides. After Banjo and Kazooie destroy all four of his segments, it evokes his "Sacred Self-Destruct", which sends out a flurry of darts in all directions. After Targitzan is blown apart by the self-destruct, Banjo and Kazooie are free to grab the Jiggy he was guarding.
