Proximity Eggs are an item in Banjo-Tooie.

Proximity Eggs are a special type of ammunition egg found only during Shootout multiplayer matches using the Breegull Blaster. When fired, a Proximity Egg will follow gravity and stick to a surface, exploding if someone gets too close to it, much like proximity mines from Rare's other first-person shooter games such as GoldenEye. Proximity Eggs can also be safely detonated from a distance by shooting them with another egg. Once a Proximity Egg has stuck to a surface, it takes about five seconds to arm itself and become mostly transparent, making it hard to see. Other players can collect Proximity Eggs by grabbing them before they can arm themselves. Shooting someone with a Proximity Egg will simply give it to them and cause no damage (but they will flinch).
Location and uses
Proximity Eggs are a type of egg used exclusively in the Squawkmatches. When fired from the Breegull Blaster, Proximity Eggs stick to the surface they landed on and explode once they are hit by another egg or someone, either an opponent or a Clockwork Kazooie, gets close. Firing a Proximity Egg at opponents causes them to obtain the egg rather than exploding.
