Talk:Jolly Roger

I'm sure we can phrase that part about Jolly's questionable sexuality better. He was certainly made to look gay, and for all I know, he probably is, but he doesn't actually have any "homosexual tendencies" and he never says or does anything to definitively suggest it. Jimbo-Jambo

Well said, I removed the "homosexual tendencies" from his bio, and re-wrote the trivia entry on it. It's a rather touchy subject to be honest.
Meanwhile, the room he's in (and his dialogue) are absolutely littered with double-entendres, not to mention the whole "ooh" voice. He has a "partner" who is clearly male, whilst also wearing makeup and a blonde wig. If the developers intended him to (quite clearly) be implied to have a particular characterisation (complete with numerous "seaman" references), why should it be cause for concern and tiptoeing around? Shouldn't judge a game from 20 years ago by today's standards, just tell it like it is. DamageW (talk) 16:39, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Minor Character?[edit]

I think that Boggy, Jolly, Pikelet and other "minor" N&B players that offer challenges are really major characters... I mean the minor characters are Mr. Patch and George and Mildred Ice Cube...

Given his elevated status in the sequel, and the fact that he has an entire level named after him, I'd have to agree. DamageW (talk) 16:39, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
