Slappas are an enemy in Banjo-Kazooie.

Characteristics
Slappa is a large mummified hand similar to Grabba found as an enemy in Gobi's Valley. It lies in wait under the sand until Banjo and Kazooie pass unsuspectingly by, then springing up and slapping the ground in an attempt to crush them. If Banjo is too far away to reach, then Slappa can actually chase him by plowing through the sand until the bear moves out of its limited territorial range.
Slappas are large, mummified hands appearing throughout Gobi's Valley. They initially stay underground, coming up and chasing Banjo and Kazooie once they get near, attempting to slap them. They can be defeated easily by using the Rat-a-tat Rap twice or waiting for them to slap the ground, then using the Beak Buster. When defeated, bones and flesh can be seen coming out of the Slappas before they disappear.

Nomenclature
Although Slappas can be defeated fairly easily with two hits from the Rat-a-tat Rap, an effective one-hit kill strategy is to wait until Slappa hits the ground, then use Kazooie's Beak Buster ability on it before it can get up.
